As I mentioned yesterday, the SHSAT is changing this coming fall. Scrambled paragraphs were dropped and will be replaced with reading comprehension multiple choice questions. Math is staying the same.
I checked with test prep/tutors who basically all said the same thing - reading comp is reading comp and it’s something kids are working on anyway. Without seeing samples of the new test there’s not much that can be specifically done to prepare kids. The purpose of dropping scrambled paragraphs was to align the test more with what they’re actually learning at school. Hopefully, in the specialized high school handbook, which will be available in June, there will be more info about what the new test will have.
