UPDATE holding out specialized high school seats for Discovery program

The Mayor announced early in the summer that there would be a two year plan, starting in the fall of 2019, to hold out 20% of specialized high school seats for kids from high poverty high schools, adjusting eligibility criteria for that group of kids. 

I reached out to the DOE and pointedly asked what percentage of seats they’re planning to hold out this year. The head of high school enrollment got back to me and forwarded the following article, which gives no specifics for this year:

It’s basically not an answer. I’m thinking they don’t know yet.
